Frequently asked — Periodontics

What is the difference between deep cleaning, LANAP, and gum graft?

Deep cleaning targets bacterial buildup along root surfaces and is often a foundational periodontal step. LANAP is a laser protocol for qualifying periodontitis cases. Gum grafting addresses recession and root coverage. Treatment is diagnosis-driven — we map your case before recommending.

Do I need a periodontist referral or can I come directly?

You can schedule directly. We coordinate periodontal evaluation, treatment, and ongoing maintenance in one office, often alongside your general or restorative care.

Can periodontal disease be cured?

Once attachment is lost, the disease is managed rather than 'cured.' With disciplined treatment and maintenance, most patients can achieve stable, non-progressing periodontal health long-term.

How long does LANAP recovery take?

Most patients return to normal activity quickly. Specific recovery depends on case severity and individual healing patterns — we provide clear post-op instructions and follow-up planning.
